Greetings UMPA Activists!
Your Mother Earth needs a little attention, and we need YOU!
UMPA Adopt A Highway Cleanup (photos) maintenance, Sunday april 18thth, 10am-2pm on State
Highway 10, Coon Rapids. If you can only spend a few hours, come early to get your
supplies! With 24 people, six teams of four, we should be able to complete the spring cleanup in
one day! If your group wants to participate as a team, Please CONTACT UMPA.
UMPA has contracted with the Minnesota Highway Department to maintain litter
cleanup on a 2.8 mile section of State Highway 10, in Coon Rapids. This is a
highly traveled four lane divided stretch between Hansen Blvd and Foley
Blvd. Highway 10 angles NW from above interstate 694, west through Coon Rapids,
and can be reached heading north on most Twin Cities Highways.
We will be
gathering at Lions Coon Creek Park at 9.30am ...hit the Highway by 10am...
It is located 1/2 mile north of US10 on Hansen, right on 119th.

This is a free city park which has portas, ample parking, and picnic areas/shelters and playground.
We will carpool to the hiway from here, and any who want to offer off Highway support will prepare
sandwiches and deliver water UMPA will provide. We will have blaze green safety vests, garbage bags,
and instructions! Bring work gloves, pick up tool (broom handle with nail in end), water,
tick repellant, and sturdy shoes!

UMPA Community Warmup Pizza Social
This will be a fun gathering of UMPA supporters after our Adopt a Highway
cleanup service. Whether you helped or not you are welcome to join us!
We meet at Sammy's Pizza
Just south of
Hiway 10 and Foley Ave (MAP), near the Theater complex. Sammy's has agreed to welcome UMPA,
but drinks and meals are on your own.
We will get a chance to celebrate two years of a clean Hiway 10, to chat about future actions, and
briefly cover any UMPA business. We have just gotten fresh UMPA T-shirts in mens and ladies XL-2XL sizes,
including fourteen varied colors (donated) from childrens to adults printed.

We shipped another three 15 pound boxes of items collected at Area Stores. Thanks to everyone who donated.
